LINNA TUCKER

What I most enjoy about DEI facilitation is that participants discover things about themselves that they hadn’t even considered before, and they become interested in how their way of thinking and acting impacts others.

It is also very rewarding when people really talk to and learn about each other.  Being seen and appreciated by their peers enriches them personally, and they find that their teams and organizations are strengthened.

Linna Tucker is an educator with 15 years of experience in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.  Her ability to connect with all levels of staff has made her one of our trainers who regularly receives the highest participant feedback scores.  Linna is very skilled at encouraging participants to share their personal experiences with diversity and incorporating their perspectives to improve team and organizational performance.

Prior to facilitating with Diversity Training & Consulting, Inc., Linna delivered over 200 training sessions for the Anti-Defamation League on race, gender, and religion.  These sessions were presented to audiences of business executives, school administrators, teachers, and students.  She also led DEI ‘Train the Trainer’ workshops with the Wisconsin and Oklahoma Boards of Education.

In her many training and consulting engagements, Linna has seen that workplace culture plays a vital role in shaping conversations around diversity, and that organizations with diverse leadership, inclusive cultures, and equitable policies outperform their peers. Challenging racism and all forms of bias benefits organizations by creating environments where individuals of all identities can thrive and fully contribute to achieving organizational goals.

Linna’s understanding of diverse perspectives is further enriched by her experience as a news and public affairs producer for television and radio programs.  For 5 years, she developed program topics and selected and prepared business and community leaders as interview guests.

Linna holds a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Northwestern University and has advanced training in teaching people with emotional and physical challenges with the Southwest Cook County Cooperative Association for Special Education.

Outside of work, Linna is an accomplished vocalist, pianist, and guitarist.  She has performed with the Lake County Gospel Choir and Choral Ensemble, and in 2010, performed at Carnegie Hall.
