DAVID BEVERLY

My initial interest in diversity and inclusion was based on my LGBTQ identity.  While I was fortunate to be always valued and included by my family and employers, I understood discrimination and wanted people to understand how discrimination hurts others.

Also, I come from a multi-racial family that includes Virginians of African American, Native American, and European origin.

My background Informs how I approach DEI work. Early in my career, when I trained as a diversity facilitator, the issues people were dealing with resonated with me.

David Beverly is a seasoned instructional designer and master facilitator with over 30 years of experience.  He has worked with Fortune 500 companies and government organizations nationally and internationally, training employees in DEI in 35 countries on five continents.

David began his DEI journey at AT&T, an early corporate leader in the diversity field.  For 20 years, David was one of the most requested facilitators at the AT&T School of Business training center that provided courses on diversity, inclusion, and intercultural communication to employees of AT&T, Bell Labs, and Lucent Technologies. David later served as the AT&T/Lucent Technologies Global Diversity Manager and Organizational Consultant.
